Venus visible traversing the sun


The transit of Venus across the sun was observed and photographed in various localities throughout Vietnam on the morning of June 6.

The phenomenon last for several hours, presenting an opportunity for scientists to measure the distance from the Earth to the Sun.
Seen from Earth, Venus appeared as a small black dot and gradually passed across the face of the Sun.
Thousands of Vietnamese astronomy lovers, including students, prepared specialized equipment to observe the event, which is said to take place in 105 years’ time.
