Japan set for Year of Culture in Viet Nam

(Vietnam Visa On Arrival) To mark Japan's National Day on Sunday, Viet Nam News presents an article written by the Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr. Yasuaki Tanizaki.
The year 2013 is almost upon us, and is set to be a significant period for Viet Nam and Japan. It will mark the 40th anniversary of Japan-Viet Nam Diplomatic Relations, and so our respective governments have taken the opportunity to celebrate 2013 as the "Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Year", which will allow our countries to further deepen our relations.
Our friendship has been nurtured in a natural way by building intimacy at a high level, and we both trust and respect each other.
I deem it my responsibility, as well as my wish, to pass this spirit of friendship between Japan and Viet Nam to the next generation.
To mark this special occasion, Japan has been preparing for a number of events of cultural exchanges. We will offer opportunities in a wide variety of fields allowing the interaction between the two countries to be increased. Events will include a Japan-Viet Nam friendly football match, a Japanese film festival, a fashion show and a technology exhibition which introduces various Japanese technologies popular around the world. We hope that these will engage the young generation.
We will also have a chance to introduce Japan's disaster management technology and share our achievements in reconstruction work after the Great East Japan Earthquake, while expressing our gratitude for the support given by the Vietnamese throughout that difficult time.
